The focus of Eleanor Lives! is a plan for humanity built on an International Bill of Rights.
There are many human rights organizations on the ground who are helping human rights defenders on a daily basis. We at Eleanor Lives! honor them. It’s the most difficult work, and absolutely necessary. 99% of time and funding should go to meeting immediate needs, while 1% should go to orchestrate a plan to prevent violation of rights through an International Bill of Rights. Immediate action and long range planning are complementary.
Here you will find resources that are useful for carrying out the two program pieces of Eleanor Lives!: Our Lights for Rights campaign and our Drafting Through Dialogue process for drafting an International Bill of Rights.
These resources include human rights books, songs, movies, speeches, correspondence, articles, papers and laws which are pertinent to the programatic work, both to identify individuals, nonprofits and for-profits that might participate, and substance for the selection of language for the draft document.
Many of these resources are links to the work of other organizations or individuals. Eleanor Lives! is compiling their good work to help share it, and provides links to some of the many human rights organizations, or any other sources of valuable information for building an International Bill of Rights.
Courts are key to addressing violations of human rights and for the implementation of an International Bill of Rights. A list of rights without the power of judges to enforce it is inadequate, and so these resources contain information on regional and international judicial enforcement.
Please help us expand these resources by sending anything you think complements our constantly expanding compilation.
