Web Designer Summer/Fall Associate 

Do you geek out over coding and web design? Are you passionate about using your technical talent to make the world a better place? We are building our online presence and are seeking a talented, hardworking web developer summer/fall associate to help us improve this existing website.

What You Will Gain

Desired Qualifications

·             Background in web design, coding and website hosting on Squarespace

·             Enthusiasm for mission and goals of the organization

·             Professionalism in representing the organization online

·             Highly organized, with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment

·             Ability to meet deadlines in a timely fashion

·             Team player who respects fellow colleagues

 The Summer/Fall Associate, Web Developer will be responsible for Unite for Rights’ online presence and must act in accordance with all organizational policies and procedures.

This is an unpaid opportunity, but will provide the selected individual with invaluable real world experience, expert connections in the nonprofit and human rights sector, and exposure to the nonprofit sector. We are applying for grants, should funds become available, and work is done well, this could turn into a paid position. Should the associate perform above and beyond expectations, letters of recommendation will be provided at the end of the term.

This positon is available from August – December 2016, with a possibility of extension. The associate will be required to work 15-20 hours per week.

Communications Associate Summer/Fall 2016

Are you a social media genius who loves researching current events and posting substantive content? Do you have a natural knack for marketing and design? We are building our online presence and are seeking a talented, hardworking summer/fall communications associate to assist us with this process.

What You Will Gain

·             Direct involvement with digital media and communications experts in San Francisco and globally

·             Opportunity to build a media campaign

·             Insight into running a nonprofit organization

·             Connections with experts in the field

·             Practical knowledge and work experience

·             Background in communications and social media platforms including Twitter, Nicho, Tumblr, Facebook, and Instagram and how to track analytics

·             Ability to develop blogging strategy

·             Knowledge of current world events and human rights issues

·             Enthusiasm for mission and goals of the organization

·             Professionalism in representing the organization online

·             Highly organized, with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment

·             Ability to meet deadlines in a timely fashion

·             Team player who respects fellow colleagues

·             Inquisitive nature and go-getter attitude

 The Summer/Fall Communications Associate will be responsible for Unite for Rights’ online presence and must act in accordance with all organization policies and procedures.

 This is an unpaid opportunity, but will provide the selected individual with the opportunity to run a successful campaign, expert connections in the nonprofit and human rights sector, and exposure to the nonprofit sector. We are applying for grants, should funds become available, and work is done well, this could turn into a paid position. Should the associate perform above and beyond expectations, letters of recommendation will be provided at the end of the term. In addition to letters of rec, there is a possibility that this could turn into a paid position.
